Hi, I’m Cat — the photographer behind Cat Parsons Photography.

 

I’m also a mum to two growing boys, which means life is often beautifully busy, a little chaotic, and full of the kinds of fleeting moments that seem to pass far too quickly.

 

It’s one of the reasons photography means so much to me.

 

As a mother, I understand how quickly time moves. The everyday moments the laughter, the tantrums, the cuddles, the personalities that make your family uniquely yours — can feel so ordinary while they’re happening, yet they become the memories we treasure most.

 

Photography allows us to hold onto those moments.

 

Creating images that families can look back on for years to come is something I feel incredibly honoured to do.

My work sits between two worlds that I truly love.

 

I photograph families, capturing natural, relaxed moments that reflect genuine connection and the beauty of your everyday life together.

 

I also work with women building their own businesses who want imagery that reflects the heart and personality of their brand.

Through branding photography, I help women create beautiful visual content that elevates their business and allows them to show up with confidence.

Being in front of the camera can feel daunting for many people, but one of my favourite parts of my work is helping women feel comfortable, confident and proud of how they present themselves and their business to the world.

 

When someone sees their images and realises how powerful and capable they look — that moment is magic.

 

 

My Experience & Training

 

Photography has been part of my life for over 20 years.

 

I studied photography at college for two years before going on to complete a three-year degree in Advertising and Editorial Photography, where I developed a strong creative and technical foundation in visual storytelling. ​​

 

Since then, I’ve spent over 17 years working as a photographer, continually refining my style and experience while working with families and businesses.

​

This background allows me to combine creativity with professional expertise, ensuring every session feels relaxed and enjoyable while still producing beautiful, high-quality imagery.

I regularly invest in courses, workshops and creative education to continue developing my skills.

I’m drawn to beautiful natural light, relaxed interactions and images that feel timeless rather than overly posed.

Life Beyond the Camera

 

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, going for long walks, drinking probably a little too much coffee, or curled up under a blanket indulging in a good Netflix series.

 

Running a business while raising a family has taught me so much about resilience, creativity and following what truly matters. It’s also something that helps me connect deeply with the families and women I work with, because I understand how busy, full and beautifully chaotic life can be.
